Gyokuro

Gyokuro is one of Japan’s most celebrated green teas, prized for its deep umami, pronounced sweetness, and rich aroma. To produce high-quality gyokuro, the tea plants are shaded for 21 days before harvest using the traditional tunnel shading method. This shading process increases chlorophyll and amino acid concentration, resulting in gyokuro’s deep green color, rich umami, smooth mouthfeel, and low astringency.
