Organic Saemidori Sencha
A light and refined organic sencha made from the first Saemidori harvest of the season, picked in mid-April in Kagoshima. Grown at the foot of the Kirishima volcanic mountains by Mr. Nishi, this tea reflects the region’s volcanic soil and humid climate.
Saemidori, meaning “clear green,” is a cultivar developed from Asatsuyu and Yabukita. It is known for its soft sweetness, fresh aroma, and umami. To enhance the tea’s natural sweetness and mellow character, the leaves are shaded for 11 days before harvest and carefully shaped into fine needle-like leaves.
In the cup: smooth and delicate with sweet citrus notes, light umami, and a clean finish.
