This hōjicha is made from first harvest stems grown in Gokase by Mr. Miyazaki. The tea is composed of both roasted and lightly roasted stems, creating a balanced profile that combines the deeper roasted character of hōjicha with the natural sweetness and freshness of young stems. The high proportion of stems also contributes to a naturally low caffeine content.

In the cup: a beautiful golden brew with a light roasted aroma, refreshing character, and a soft, sweet finish.

Hōjicha is best brewed in a small, preheated teapot and with full attention.

You can brew several times on the same leaves, adjusting the water temperature and brewing time.

Below a suggestion for brewing this tea, but please experiment and find your own favorite cup.

Use 6g for 300 ml water.
1. brew: water 100°C / 30 sec.
2. brew: water 100°C / 5 sec.
3. brew: water 100°C / 10 sec.
