This organic Fukamushi Sencha from Hioki is a deep-steamed, first-harvest tea made from the Asanoka cultivar. “Asa” refers to the freshness of morning and brings to mind newly sprouted leaves.

Fukamushi Sencha, or deep-steamed Sencha, is one of the most widely enjoyed styles of Sencha in Japan today. Compared to regular Sencha, the leaves are steamed for a longer time, resulting in a finer, more broken leaf appearance and a characteristically cloudy infusion.

In the cup: A bright green tea with a rich flavor, subtle sweetness, and a full, smooth mouthfeel.

Sencha Fukamushi is best brewed in a small, preheated teapot and with full attention.

You can brew several times on the same leaves, adjusting the water temperature and brewing time.

Below a suggestion for brewing this tea, but please experiment and find your own favorite cup.

Use 8g for 200 ml water.
1. brew: water 60-70°C / 30 sec.
2. brew: water 80°C / pour immediately
3. brew: water 90°C / pour immediately
