Chasen - Black Shin

A high-quality chasen handcrafted in Takayama, Nara, Japan by a skilled local artisan. Made from natural black bamboo, locally sourced and valued for its flexibility, this whisk is a Shin Chasen—a specialized design featuring 100 finely carved straight tines. Created for the preparation of delicate, ceremonial-grade matcha, it produces a light, smooth froth with an especially refined texture.

Each whisk is individually made in limited quantities, approximately 8–10 pieces per day, with a deep commitment to traditional craftsmanship. Every piece is unique, shaped by the natural character of the bamboo and the precision of the artisan’s hand.

For best care, rinse with water after use and allow to air dry.
